Dave's Painting ~ Waupaca
With over 20 years in the home improvement, painting, and remodeling industry, it was time for Dave's Painting to have a well-designed website which showcased the quality workmanship put into every home project.
The Project Brief
Dave presented me with the challenge of incorporating two brands into one website. He said it was important to ensure there was a distinction as well as a connection between the brands. One thing of particular importance to him was to create an about page showcasing his interests, hobbies, and activities outside of his work.
The rich green color in the HomeWorks logo was the foundation used to create a sophisticated look and feel for the website. Part of the HomeWorks logo was a textured “H” in the center. I decided to use this as the border at the top of the website. Working with Photoshop, I cut and pieced it together to make a solid border to repeat across the page.
With a profession relying heavily on images to showcase past work projects, it was important to incorporate areas for multiple of pictures. This was achieved by using a prominent slideshow on the home page and several picture galleries throughout the site.
Several years after the HomeWorks website was created, Dave decided to eliminate the HomeWorks part of his brand and re-brand everything as Dave’s painting. He decided to keep the entire look of the website the same but focus more on paint and tile.
During the re-branding of the website we also worked with Dave to improve his local search optimization and change all the citations we found to reflect the re-branding of not only his company name but also the focus of services.
Since re-branding his website and restructuring his local citation listings, Dave said he has more work than ever before. He calls often to report new customers who’ve found his site and compliment him on the way it looks as well as being able to find him in the areas surrounding Waupaca.
